Companion workspace guide

Make your Galaxy Tab part of the work already happening on your Mac.

TabShare connects the useful moments between both devices: files in either direction, S Pen markup, copied text, automatic delivery, and the recent work you may need again.

The short answer

A companion workspace is more than one way to send a file.

Your Galaxy Tab is where reading, handwriting, and touch feel natural. Your Mac is where Finder, desktop apps, and longer work live. TabShare gives the moments between them one private, paired home.

01

Pair your Mac and Galaxy Tab

The relationship is explicit and local. The network is only the route; the paired device identity is what TabShare trusts.

02

Choose the right moment

Drag a file, share it back, send copied text, start Paper Roundtrip, or let TabShare Folder handle repeat delivery.

03

Pick up from Shelf

Each device keeps useful local history and actions for the files it owns, without pretending to be a cloud library.

Paper and S Pen

Mark it on your Tab. Find it back on your Mac.

Paper Roundtrip keeps the Mac original in context while the Galaxy Tab and your chosen PDF app handle the marks.

Everyday continuity

Files, copied text, and automatic delivery share one relationship.

Shared Clipboard moves selected text only when you ask. TabShare Folder sends files when the paired Tab is ready. Shelf keeps recent local work close on both devices.

Shared Clipboard

Send selected text in either direction without background clipboard monitoring.

Automatic Delivery

Put files in TabShare Folder and let the paired Galaxy Tab receive them when it is ready.

Shelf

Open, reveal, review, or revisit files from the device that owns them.

What this is not

A bridge for your work, not a cloud desktop.

TabShare does not make the Galaxy Tab a native Mac second display, synchronize Samsung Notes, or watch everything you copy. It focuses on deliberate movement between your own paired devices.

Good to know

Clear answers before you begin.

Is the Galaxy Tab acting as a second Mac display?

No. This guide describes file, PDF, clipboard, automation, and Shelf workflows, not remote desktop or second-screen control.

Does Shelf synchronize through the cloud?

No. Each device keeps its own local history and the actions that are valid for files on that device.

Is copied text synchronized automatically?

No. Every Shared Clipboard send is an explicit action, and TabShare does not store clipboard contents in Shelf.
